Two obsolete office buildings at the Amsterdam Zuidas find a new future. Provast is redeveloping one tower into a high-end hotel for owner Commerz Real. Because of the construction of the ZuidasDok, the entire complex will get a new parking garage.

The design of 2 Amsterdam is aimed at showing that the two towers have different functions, but do belong together. The continuous glass façade ensures unity between the two buildings. The ground floor (the so-called ‘plinth’) also brings the two buildings together. The western tower will accommodate the hotel and the eastern tower will have an office function.

Provast is not only modernising and making more sustainable the former offices of AkzoNobel and Stibbe, but in this part of the Zuidas it is important to find a more human scale. A sky bar and a pavilion with a top restaurant will contribute to a more varied living environment. The existing (semi-) public space will be transformed into a green corporate garden.
