Bijenkorf & Ingram Micro distribution centre

Department store group de Bijenkorf will supply its 7 department stores in the Netherlands from a new large distribution centre. The DC will also handle e-fulfilment activities. Bijenkorf outsourced these activities to logistics service provider Ingram Micro CLS Benelux.

Ingram Micro CLS Benelux has signed a long-term lease agreement with logistics real estate developer HVBM Vastgoed that is developing the distribution centre on the Kraaiven business park in logistics hotspot Tilburg. The logistics service provider gets access to 41.553 m2 warehouse space, 6.546 m2 mezzanine and 3.233 m2 office space in the DC. It is expected that over 14 million items will be shipped annually from this building by 2020.

The sustainable and gas-free building will be customised (turnkey, ed.) and realised according to the highest standard in logistics real estate. The logistics property developer and Ingram Micro want to realise a distribution centre that meets the BREEAM Outstanding standard. This high level of sustainability is expressed by an energy-efficient and gasless climate system (full-electric) and by the use of sustainable LED lighting.

C2N is involved in the BREEAM sustainability process as BREEAM-NL Assessor. Meanwhile, in 2018 the BREEAM-NL design certificate has been obtained with score Outstanding.
