Redevelopment of Tripolis Park at Amsterdam’s Zuidas certified on 14 December 2020. Two of the monumental Tripolis buildings, at the time designed by architect Aldo van Eyck, will be completely renovated and optimised. A new ‘landscraper’ will be built along the A10 motorway, partly over the existing Tripolis towers. The renovation design of Tripolis Park was created by architect Winy Maas of MVRDV.
Features of the current Tripolis complex are the sloping park on which the buildings stand, and the design philosophy of the original architect Aldo van Eyck. These original aspects are respected and further enhanced in the new design. Innovative and creative adjustments to the existing towers transform them into attractive and efficient office space. C2N fulfilled the role of BREEAM assessor in this project. With a BREEAM score ”Outstanding” (***** stars) of 87.75% on the design certificate, Tripolis can rightly call itself a sustainable building.
