The Rock is one of the most prestigious and recognizable office buildings in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district. The 91-meter-high building, designed by architect Erick van Egeraat, has 24 floors and was completed in 2009.
In 2021, The Rock achieved a BREEAM-NL In-Use certification with a ‘Good’ rating, with C2N acting as the BREEAM Assessor. Following significant tenant turnover, the owner, Deka Immobilien, decided to renovate the building in phases. The renovation includes common areas and the office floors' core, with the goal of future-proofing the building for new tenants.
C2N is once again involved and is conducting an extensive ESG report, including developing a sustainability strategy. After the renovation work is completed, C2N will update the BREEAM certification and revise the energy label, with the ambition of bringing the building to a higher level of sustainability.
